FIRST SCENE
(China. The island of Peng-lai-shan in the Yellow East Sea Huang-hai. The Mountain of Flowers and Fruits. The Lord of Heaven and Sun Wu Kung.)

From eternity to eternity, your archetype
In my mind I want to create out of nothing
And out of the potential
(China. The island of Peng-lai-shan in the Yellow East Sea Huang-hai. The Mountain of Flowers and Fruits. The Lord of Heaven and Sun Wu Kung.)
THE LORD
I want to create you, monkey Sun Wu Kung,
I bear you as the model already in the spirit
From eternity to eternity, your archetype
In my mind I want to create out of nothing
And out of the potential
Willl you be the
reality!
(The Lord stretched out his right hand and places a stone egg on the island of the blessed.)
Here is the primordial seed of all reality.
There are decided in this stone egg
The potential possibilities of all
The myriad creatures in the world.
And included in this stone egg
Is also the Wisdom that we call Tao,
The Mother of the ten thousand things ,
The ideal, which every archetype says
The hour and the place, where this archetype
Is then to concretize as a thing.
There are decided in this stone egg
Ideas, the idea of monkeys and
Unlike the idea of the human children.
So now is the time, here is the place
When I create you, monkey Sun Wu Kung.
Now it assign you to the Mother Tao,
The immanent godhead in the stone egg,
That now breaks the stone egg and appears
The monkey Sun Wu Kung. Notes, monkey!
(The stone egg breaks open and Sun Wu Kung jumps out as a consummate monkey.)
SUN WU KUNG
I thank thee, O Lord of the highest Heaven,
The, Jade Emperor in the Nephrit-town,
The Phoenix city at the end of the Milky Way,
Who created me because he wanted me!
SECOND SCENE
(The gods a-thousand-miles-eye and fine-ear soar through heaven above the earth.)
A THOUSAND MILES EYE
God fine ear, brother, do you hear Sun Wu Kungr?
FINE EAR
God a thousand miles eye, do you see him?
A THOUSAND MILES EYE
I see China, from the Great Wall
Girded on the loins of the mind,
The Virgin China I see a mother,
Which go begging with the empty dish
For rice in front of the Shrine of the Great Void.
FINE EAR
I hear the singing of China's Muse,
Perhaps China's Muse is Chang O,
The white queen of the white moon,
For all poets are densities of the moon.
A THOUSAND MILES EYE
I see the rice fields are flooded.
FINE EAR
Yak-cattles I hear roar high in Tibet.
A THOUSAND MILES EYE
I see the beach of Sanya on the island in the southern sea.
FINE EAR
I hear monks mutter their mantras:
Hail, O Guan Yin!
A THOUSAND MILES EYE
I see the young Son of Heaven, the Emperor,
The boy in the Forbidden Palace,
Who drinks milk at the breast of his nurse.
FINE EAR
I hear the philosophers' disputes,
Whether good or evil by nature
Is man, as the schools are still arguing.
A THOUSAND MILES EYE
I see the sacred mountains of China,
Five Sacred Mountains of China I see.
FINE EAR
I hear the gong, the sound-stone and the pipa.
A THOUSAND MILES EYE
I see a poet who drunken
Tries to embrace the moon, its mirror image
In the Dung-ting-lake, and drowns.
FINE EAR
But Sun Wu Kung, I did not hear him!
I have not yet a prayer heard by monkeys!
A THOUSAND MILES EYE
In no temple I ever saw monkeys!
THIRD SCENE
(Sun Wu Kung and a wild herd of monkeys in front of a waterfall.)
CHORUS OF MONKEYS
Who can step through this waterfall,
But without his fur will be wet, he
Shall be king of the whole herd of monkeys,
Yes, Emperors and also the High Priest!
SUN WU KUNG
I dare, I will run as fast through it,
That me no water droplets wets the fur.
CHORUS OF MONKEYS
O Sun Wu Kung, you hero courageous!
Remember that no monkey ever penetrated
Through this waterfall's thick veil!
It knows no monkey's brain in the monkey's head
And no monkey's heart in monkey's bosom,
What located beyond this waterfall.
SUN WU KUNG
I should be afraid in front of mere nothingness?
Ha, fear of death is something for the children of men.
(Sun Wu Kung jumps through the waterfall.)
CHORUS OF MONKEYS
O Sun Wu Kung, you hero courageous,
You who are advanced into nothingness,
Tell me, can you tell us the Hereafter?

(from inside a cave echoing)
I hear you, beloved monkey children!
Here I stand in front of a water castle
In a large cave, which is named:
The cave of heaven behind the veil of water.
CHORUS OF MONKEYS
But we do not trust to be yours.
We poor monkeys and stray children,
Driven by desires and itching
The instinct of sexuality! O hear us
O Sun Wu Kung, you hero courageous,
And come back to your herd of monkeys!
SUN WU KUNG
(from inside the cave)
I'll be right! I come as a thief!
CHORUS OF MONKEYS
The whole herd of monkeys roars loudly
And Virgin China asks you in the spirit:
Come, high priest, monkeys' Emperor!
SUN WU KUNG
(Re-emerging from the waterfall)
I 'm here, do not be sad anymore, kids!

CHORUS OF MONKEYS
O Sun Wu Kung, you hero courageous,
You have penetrated the waterfall
And have not made wet the monkey's fur,
You shalt be our monkey king now!

Vervet monkeys, you gather the choir,
I make you to be guardians of my treasures.

SUN WU KUNG
Vervet monkeys, you gather the choir,
I make you to be guardians of my treasures.
THE SEA CATS
Yes, one billion
coconuts
Are worth more than ten million cash.
SUN WU KUNG
My apes assemble yourselves to the choir,
Ye shall be my top bigwigs.
THE APES
Man is not only homo sapiens
And is certainly not only homo faber,
Man, he is homo religiosus.
SUN WU KUNG
Gorillas, assemble yourselves to a chorus,
You are ministers of the family to me.
THE GORILLA
The aging gorilla mothers sit
In the shade of old trees, talk and chat,
The aging gorilla fathers fart,
Gorilla kids shimmy in the branches
And rock shouting wildly on the vines,
The fidelity of the gorillas
Is a model for the male chimpanzees.
SUN WU KUNG
Male chimpanzees, you collect the choir,
You are the students of the university.
THE MALE CHIMPANZEE
Gorilla males live in marriage
And therefore have a small penis,
Male chimpanzees and fellow students
In free love just fuck everything
And therefore have a large penis.
SUN WU KUNG
You orangutans, you collect the choir,
You are my foreign ministry.
THE ORANGUTANS
We wild men come out of the woods
And break into the human villages
And rob us of the beautiful young girls,
Which we then we rape to death!
SUN WU KUNG
Well furnished is my monkey kingdom.
ACT TWO
FIRST SCENE
(Sun Wu Kung and a small circle of chosen monkeys, including especially an old bearded monkey.)
SUN WU KUNG
I weep, weep, oh death!
How cruel is death, the last enemy!
Are worth more than ten million cash.
SUN WU KUNG
My apes assemble yourselves to the choir,
Ye shall be my top bigwigs.

ACT TWO
FIRST SCENE
(Sun Wu Kung and a small circle of chosen monkeys, including especially an old bearded monkey.)
SUN WU KUNG
I weep, weep, oh death!
How cruel is death, the last enemy!
A monkey woman
with beautiful monkey tits
Died: Where is
the ape to go?
What is the monkeys life, yet so funny,
The cheery game with coconuts and
The fumbling on their sex, when at last
The death of the whole being negates?
Yes, do we not come from the everlasting nothingness
And finally return home to eternity, not to be?
What is there the sense of the monkeys life?
OLD MONKEY
Awakens in you the desire for
Wisdom, as the philosophers say.
Wisdom is taste of the eternal
And is the insight into the truth.
SUN WU KUNG
Is there an absolute truth?
There are so much different opinions!
OLD MONKEY
Embark on a quest, Sun Wu Kung!
It is already said by an old master:
He who seeks will find the truth.
SUN WU KUNG
However, an artist said that he found,
He simply found without having searched.
OLD MONKEY
Yes, with a search it is difficult:
You imagine something before that you are looking for then,
So are you running after an illusion,
What is the monkeys life, yet so funny,
The cheery game with coconuts and
The fumbling on their sex, when at last
The death of the whole being negates?
Yes, do we not come from the everlasting nothingness
And finally return home to eternity, not to be?
What is there the sense of the monkeys life?

He simply found without having searched.
OLD MONKEY
Yes, with a search it is difficult:
You imagine something before that you are looking for then,
So are you running after an illusion,
You're wrong,
always further from truth.
SUN WU KUNG
So I'm wrong about, a mistake-master,
By mistake I am wrong to mistake further,
Yes, there is hope for me yet?
OLD MONKEY
There is only one hope for the viewfinder,
The hope that the absolute truth,
Which reveals itself suddenly and enlightens you.
SUN WU KUNG
Before I go on my pilgrimage
To search for truth, it is my desire,
With you, beloved brethren, my monkeys,
To eat the peach of immortality,
Long life to drink in green wine.
(Sun Wu Kung and the chosen monkey brothers eat and drink solemnly.)
SECOND SCENE
(Clean City. Sun Wu Kung in a middle-class suit, a petty petit bourgeois.)
SUN WU KUNG
I came to a small pine raft,
I rowed with a bamboo pole,
So I came into town on the channel
And bought a house with other houses.
Petty bourgeois
This is man's greatest happiness , a house,
For my apartment, which is my fortress .
PETIT BOURGOIS
SUN WU KUNG
So I'm wrong about, a mistake-master,
By mistake I am wrong to mistake further,
Yes, there is hope for me yet?

SUN WU KUNG
I came to a small pine raft,

So I came into town on the channel
And bought a house with other houses.
Petty bourgeois
This is man's greatest happiness , a house,
For my apartment, which is my fortress .
PETIT BOURGOIS
Have you always
cleaned your house?
And have you always on weekend,
When you come from your work in office,
The house roof renovated and the balcony?
SUN WU KUNG
I do not like housework, cleaning,
So I ordered a cleaning woman.
Also, I loved not the renovation work,
Since I had come a carpenter.
PETIT BOURGOIS
You could hold your apartment clean,
It does not need a cleaning woman in the house.
What are you doing all day at home?
SUN WU KUNG
I think about the Creator and the creature.
I thought otherwise, in God is pure act,
But in God is everything in potency.
The possibilities of all beings
As ideals are already in God.
But now I think, God is pure act
And the material is the power,
The mere nackende material
Is an unrealized potency.
PETIT BOURGOIS
Potency means but the virility
And the act of conjugal union.
You should take a woman to wife,
Then it will be over with your musings.
So you think idly in front of me?
What does it do? This brings you no money!
SUN WU KUNG
I almost would marriy a wife
And would also become the children's father,
Then I would also have to earn money.
I would love the way you live,
But unfortunately, I am looking for secret wisdom.
I was born, alas, a philosopher!
THIRD SCENE
(Sun Wu Kung on his jaw raft, rowing with his bamboo pole, he lands on the beach of the West Country. Near the shore in pine and spruce forest sings a lumberjack.)
SUN WU KUNG
Now further, continue on the pilgrimage,
As green as green but are the pine forests!
Lumberjack, tell me, where I end up!
WOODCUTTER
In the West Country you are landed on the beach,
Close to the beach, in the pine forests.
SUN WU KUNG
What did you sing but for a beautiful song?
The melody I liked. Sing it again!
WOODCUTTER
(sings)
Exposed on the cliffs of the heart,
Oh how alone there!
SUN WU KUNG
The song, the song, oh, it goes to the heart of me,
I 'm also an orphan in the universe!
When I am in distress and misery, so I cry:
O Mother, Mother, come and help me!
But then is silent the whole universe.
I'm so alone in this world,
I do believe I am invisible,
And not looking at me the people outside,
So they are all foreign to me inside.
WOODCUTTER
The song taught me a wise master,
He lived in the distant beautiful southl,
He lived on the holy mountain,
The mountain of the heart is called. There he sang to me
From his loneliness and how his breathing,
Now with the wind wanders through the world.
SUN WU KUNG
Oh, please, sing again that song !
WOODCUTTER
(sings)
Exposed on the cliffs of the heart,
Oh how alone there!
SUN WU KUNG
Alone, alone, I 'm so alone!
The wise master who invented this song,
He could understand me, I think,
I want to become a student of his insight!
WOODCUTTER
So take the wise master in the south to your teacher!
SUN WU KUNG
The south is the direction of God.
ACT THREE
FIRST SCENE
(The wise master sitting in front of his hut on a bamboo mat and meditating. From a distance, it is approaching Sun Wu Kung.)

ACT THREE
FIRST SCENE
(The wise master sitting in front of his hut on a bamboo mat and meditating. From a distance, it is approaching Sun Wu Kung.)
MASTER
I am the master
of the secret wisdom,
You, my visitor, what do you want from me?
SUN WU KUNG
What are you doing, o wise master?
MASTER
I meditate on the beads
The wisdom of eternal mercy,
The fact that the jewel is in the lotus bud.
But you probably will not understand, monkey.
SUN WU KUNG
I 'm no more a right monkey,
Because I admire the wise masters.
Oh, I wish I were a wise master!
But there are masters who live in sin
And boys desecrate or little girls!
MASTER
The hour is coming, which wheat and chaff separates.
Do you want to come to my school of wisdom?
SUN WU KUNG
First I would like a little chat with you.
MASTER
I chat not, I speak only of the doctrine.
SUN WU KUNG
Remember that I'm still a monkey
And still have not fed the bread of wisdom.
MASTER
The God of Wisdom and Compassion
Invites you in my school of wisdom.
I see your humility, your hunger
For truth, for justice on earth.
Can you understand the ancient writings?
SUN WU KUNG
We monkeys also love the ancient writings.
But if we see the wise master,
With incense paying homage to the ancient scriptures,
That affects us a little bit with envy.
MASTER
Step into my hut, come and see,
And if I bring the Soma-sacrifice
To Heaven's God, you must be there, brother,
And stand in the presence of God.
SUN WU KUNG
Maybe I will be a wise master myself?
CHAMPION
I thank you that you've come.
SECOND SCENE
(The master, his twelve disciples, and Sun Wu Kung in the hut of the hermitage.)
MASTER
You're entered in my school,
You want to know my deep wisdom,
Determined you are, you want to be a disciple
And follow me on my Heavenly Path.
Every disciple in my school
Is on the mysterious way inside,
Leaves the bourgeois father's name
And is called by me with a new name.
SUN WU KUNG
How should I be named, my beloved master?
MASTER
The Emerging who become empty for God!
SUN WU KUNG
The Emerging who become empty for God?
Because my old monkey ego died,
And I got the nature of the Buddha?
FIRST DISCIPLE
The Emerging who become empty of God,
The sinful nature of monkeys
In the bathroom cleaning is drowned, but
The old monkey is a good swimmer.
SECOND DISCIPLE
No, now that we have become the nature
Of Buddha, the whole old ego
Died, we are a new creature!
What I ask according to my old self,
My father's, my mother's karma?
I am now become the Buddha-God!
You, my visitor, what do you want from me?
SUN WU KUNG
What are you doing, o wise master?

THIRD DISCIPLE
They all pray to Gautama Buddha,
The fools, this mob in the temples!
I 'm just as big as Buddha, I
Am of the Eternal primordial Buddha a part ,
A piece of God, an incarnate God!
They all pray to Gautama Buddha,
The fools, this mob in the temples!
I 'm just as big as Buddha, I
Am of the Eternal primordial Buddha a part ,
A piece of God, an incarnate God!
FOURTH DISCIPLE
At first I thought, if I am a monk only,
Then I am a new creature,
The old sins of the past
I've already put all away, but
Now I'll be in the age of mildness,
Now again I like young girls,
The lascivious dance and music and wine!
MASTER
Fools all of you, you are still unenlightened!
SUN WU KUNG
But I am the Awakening, the Awakening
To the Grand Vacuum for God's Wisdom!
THIRD SCENE
(Sun Wu Kung alone in the garden of the hermitage.)
SUN WU KUNG
Here I have recently nettles torn
And have carried off old thorns.
Then I dug up the field
And payed attention that I'm using the spade so
That I not an earthworm take his life,
Back there I planted herbs, salad there,
There strawberry bushes and peach trees there,
Cherry trees, apple trees, plum trees
And there I let the rustling bamboo bush.
Only, Lady Wisdom, what do I do with the snails?
I can not sprinkle with salt them because
I can not kill an animal, is a great vice.
Well, Lady Wisdom, I think I have just ducks,
The ducks will eat the snails.
But here, this small part of earth, I particularly
Guide, here I am worried about the rose,
I must pruning in spring the rose,
That in the summer it also bears buds.
Here, this garden bench in bamboo shade
Is my resting place to read here,
I'll get the book out of my coat pocket.
(He pulls a tiny copy of the Tao Te Ching by Lao Tse from his pocket and begins to read.)
O Spring! All the people are so happy
And ascende the sacred terraces
For the Rite of Spring, so they are happy.
Only I 'm alone, oh, so sad for no reason,
I drift like a ship on the wild sea
And weep like a child for his mother!
Humanity calls me a rascal
And grill catcher, ne'er-do, madman!
People are so wise in this world,
But I am so foolish as a little child,
A little child I am and trust
The pure absolute Being, which carries me,
As a nurse carrying her little child.
The pure absolute Being alone
Honor I as love of a Mother, breastfeeding me!
(He opens the book again and puts it back into his coat pocket.)
Yes, who recognized the Great Mother and
His own childhood before the Great Mother,
He is in the downfall of his own body
Freed from all mortal danger!
FOURTH SCENE
(The Master and Sun Wu Kung under the fig tree - ficus religiosa - before the cottage)

Burned texts, talismans, numbers
And signs, signatures of magic.

(He dances a Bengali wedding dance.)
MASTER

From Tibet and reading the I Ching.

(He dances a fertility dance.)
MASTER

Of the birds, elixirs, pills, drugs.
SUN WU KUNG

(He dances a orgiastic rain dance.)

SUN WU KUNG
Oh, action! I want to dance, to dance!
(He dances the dance of the male Phoenix and female bird of magic.)
MASTER
I teach you the way of the right breathing,
Qi Gong, how to regulate the breath.
SUN WU KUNG

FIFTH SCENE
(The Master, Sun Wu Kung and three little boys from the nearby village.)
MASTER
Do you want to hear philosophers wisdom now?
I tell you that man is God himself!
SUN WU KUNG
(laughs)
I am not a man, not a man, a monkey
I am and would like to make somersaults!
(He does somersaults, the little boys squeal with delight.)
THE BOYS
Yes, can you also do a handstand?
SUN WU KUNG
I will try it, my little gods!
(Sun Wu Kung doing a handstand.)
MASTER
What is this great childishness?
I teach you secret science!
THE BOYS
Oh play please, please, with us the ball!
SUN WU KUNG
I'm the ball! Ye gods play the ball game!
(Sun Wu Kung runs through the garden, the boys laughing noisily afterwards.)
MASTER
Venerable secret science,
You are nothing for the blind children people!
The Emerging, you're a fool!
THE BOYS
Oh, please, you play with us hiding!
(Sun Wu Kung adheres to the eyes.)
SUN WU KUNG
I see nothing! Now I'm invisible!
(The boys laugh. The Master speaks deadly serious.)
MASTER
Unworthy thou art my wisdom, go,
You fool with a restless monkey heart,
Leave my philosopher hut!
(Sun Wu Kung walks away laughing.)
ACT FOUR
FIRST SCENE
(Sun Wu Kung on the island of the monkeys. Around him gray-haired monkey mothers and fathers monkeys.)
THE OLD MONKEY
You're back, dear monkey king,
How we are glad you returned.
We need to complain all our sufferings,
For our children monkeys are away!
SUN WU KUNG
Where have they gone, the dear little monkeys?
THE OLD MONKEY
In the far north behind the chaos lives
In the mist land of evil the king devil,
He has robbed us of our monkey children,
He raped them and he does not allow us
That we again see the little monkeys.
SUN WU KUNG
By God, I curse the evil devil king!
THE OLD MONKEY
Can you visit our little monkeys
And deliver them from the devil king?
SUN WU KUNG
The evil devil king is very powerful,
Prosecutor he is of all my brothers
Before the Court, the evil prosecutor,
Accusing and slandering my brothers.
Who are my brothers on earth?
Not those who dare to imagine,
They are related to me by blood,
No, God's beloved little children
Are my brothers in the spirit of love.
And when the evil devil king robbed
My beloved little brothers,
Then I have to do everything possible
To free the children of the devil!
THE OLD MONKEY
The evil devil king is very powerful,
By what authority do you want to argue with him?
SUN WU KUNG
Because I passed through the waterfall
And to me it did not wet my fur,
So I am now the pure monkey king,
I am the way, the true wisdom,
For I am the Awakening, the Awakening
To the Grand Vacuum for God's Wisdom!
THE OLD MONKEY
O king , save our children monkeys !
SECOND SCENE
(Sun Wu Kung in the water castle of the dragon of the eastern sea. The dreagon as the sea king and his beautiful daughter as a princess of the sea. The sea king and Sun Wu Kung drink green tea from the Himalayas.)
DRAGON KING
Together rolled the leaves of tea,
We lay them down in the porcelain cup
And pour boiling water over it,
Then unfold the green leaves,
They are long and narrow like girls fingers
And give their delightful aroma
To the hot water, the taste of tea.
SUN WU KUNG
Dear dragon of the eastern sea, I
Possesse only a small sharp knife,
With that, I must kill the devil king.
DRAGON KING
The devil king is very strong, you will
Usie a knife, it can not kill him.
PRINCESS
Forgive, O lord, thou great monkey king,
The fact that I raise my voice to you.
SUN WU KUNG
Princess, beautiful and full of grace,
When I see you, beloved princess,
I look right upwards to God's beauty!
PRINCESS
In the East Sea, in the midst of the deepest depth,
I know a copper rod,
If you pull this copper rod,
You can handle her, the devil king to kill.
SUN WU KUNG
Princess, wisdom from the Land of Smiles,
What's that for a copper rod?
PRINCESS
At this copper rod into the sea
The Axis Mundi is in the middle of the East Sea,
Thereon once hung the heaven's white snake.
SUN WU KUNG
I see a vision, and what I see,
Is this: I take the copper rod
From its base in the East Sea, it flooded
The sea, the water palace of the dragon king!
PRINCESS
With my beautiful smile I
Comand you, take the copper rod
And beat the devils with their king's dead!
THIRD SCENE
(Two men dressed in white lead Sun Wu Kung in the underground palace of the gods of death.)
SUN WU KUNG
You men in white linen clothes,
Why have you kidnapped me? Why are you silent!
(They appear before the thrones of the gods of death. The gods of death jump, startled.)
THE GODS OF DEATH
O Lord of Heaven ! What do you have to say?
Why comes to us the monkey king ?
SUN WU KUNG
No longer call me by the name Sun Wu Kung,
Call me the monkey king no more,
No longer call me the Awakening,
Awakened to the Emptiness of the Wisdom of God,
Call me Heaven's native
And Holiest of all the saints!
THE GODS OF DEATH
At first I thought, if I am a monk only,
Then I am a new creature,
The old sins of the past
I've already put all away, but
Now I'll be in the age of mildness,
Now again I like young girls,
The lascivious dance and music and wine!
MASTER
Fools all of you, you are still unenlightened!
SUN WU KUNG
But I am the Awakening, the Awakening
To the Grand Vacuum for God's Wisdom!
THIRD SCENE
(Sun Wu Kung alone in the garden of the hermitage.)
SUN WU KUNG
Here I have recently nettles torn
And have carried off old thorns.
Then I dug up the field
And payed attention that I'm using the spade so
That I not an earthworm take his life,
Back there I planted herbs, salad there,
There strawberry bushes and peach trees there,
Cherry trees, apple trees, plum trees
And there I let the rustling bamboo bush.

I say: Give me the book of death!
(The death gods give him the book of death, he opens it and look for names in it.)
SUN WU KUNG
Here, in the book of death I see
The names of all my monkey children
Posted calligraphic beautifully with ink
And given their hour of death.
Give me a brush and black ink!
(The death gods give him ink and a brush. He dips his brush in the barrel Then he sweeps in the book of death the name of his monkey children.)
THE GODS OF DEATH
The apes' names you stroke out?
SUN WU KUNG
Yes, I'd freed from death my children!
FIFTH ACT
FIRST SCENE
(In heaven. The Lord of Heaven, to his right hand the genius morning star. Before him the dragon of the eastern sea and the gods of death appearing.)
DRAGON KING
O Lord, the monkeys are too naughty!
Now ask but already the apes
To guarantee their sacred apes rights!
Soon go ape females even for election
And choose a monkey president
In a democracy of apes!
Their leader is the wild Sun Wu Kung,
He with the assistance of my beautiful daughter
The copper snake moved from the East Sea
And flooded my water castle!
THE GODS OF DEATH
O Lord, thou everlasting righteousness!
The animals must all die,
But Sun Wu Kung entered the realm of the dead
And stroked the monkey children's names from
The book of death before judgement!
THE LORD
Accuser! Listen, I want the morning star!
GENIUS MORNING STAR
O Lord, eternal justice,
If overcome by your own
Compassion, that stirs you in your bosom,
Lover you're of all living beings!
If something would be in the world, that you
Do not love, you would have not created it.
The gods do not need your mercy,
However, the restless monkey heart
Requires your heartfelt compassion!
THE LORD
O morning star, you genius of love,
What should I do with this Sun Wu Kung?
GENIUS MORNING STAR
Lord, have mercy! Although he is a sinner,
Is a rebel, a talker and a mocker,
But have mercy, Lord, have mercy
And take him into your celestial halls!
THE LORD
Well, morning star, you genius of love,
Lead you Sun Wu Kung to paradise!
GENIUS MORNING STAR
Thy will, O Lord, I do observe.
SECOND SCENE
(Sun Wu Kung alone on the summit of the mountain of monkeys. The genius morning star appears in front of him.)
GENIUS MORNING STAR
O Sun Wu Kung, I have good news.
SUN WU KUNG
To me, even now come the heavenly gods?
Where are the goddesses with full breasts
And beautiful hair in the swan robes?
GENIUS MORNING STAR
Instead of heavenly goddesses with full breasts
Now coming to you the genius morning star,
I invite you into God's Heaven!
SUN WU KUNG
Should I be even a god of heaven now?
GENIUS MORNING STAR
Gone now is the time of pride and arrogance.
The monkey turned out like men,
The people are the gods represented the same.
Realize now: You are a servant of the Lord,
Professe and worship on your knees.
SUN WU KUNG
Yes, good protection god, lead me to heaven!
(A golden cloud veiled the genius morning star and Sun Wu Kung, they float upwards to the eastern gate of heaven. Where they are expected by the guardian of the gates of heaven, the heavenly fisherman.)
HEAVENLY FISHERMAN
Who is knocking here at the gate of paradise?
GENIUS MORNING STAR
The monkey king Sun Wu Kung knocks.
HEAVENLY FISHERMAN
How? If a monkey will go to heaven?
SUN WU KUNG
Even donkey comes yet to paradise!
GENIUS MORNING STAR
The Lord of Heaven wants all monkeys
Be saved, and the monkey king.
HEAVENLY FISHERMAN
What, Sun Wu Kung, what do you have to offer?
SUN WU KUNG
Alas, I have nothing to offer,
I do not have merits of pious people,
So I 'm poorer than the mendicant friars.
GENIUS MORNING STAR
O you guardians of the gate of heaven, open!
HEAVENLY FISHERMAN
Come on, Sun Wu Kung! The Lord is merciful!
THIRD SCENE
(In Heaven. Sun Wu Kung is the good shepherd of the heavenly sheep and lambs and feeds the flock on the mountains of the heart in solitude.)
SUN WU KUNG
The Lord of Heaven asked: Do you love me?
I said: Yes, O Lord, I love thee!
Then the Lord said, So feed my lambs!
The Lord of Heaven asked: Do you love me?
I said: Yes, O Lord , I love thee!
Then the Lord said, So feed my sheep!
Then I asked the Lord: Are you my friend?
I said, Lord of Heaven, thou knowest all things,
Thou know, I want to be friends with you!
Then the Lord said, So feed my sheep!
And so I became the shepherd,
The good shepherd, and the sheep all
Know my voice and follow me.
Is there a hireling who guards the flock,
Sees the wolves coming, flees the hireling,
But not the good shepherd who stays there.
(He pulls a shepherd's pipe from his pocket and blows on the flute.)
So I am a shepherd, so I became
A shepherd, who I once was a king!
Oh, if I was back on Earth
With my monkey brothers, sister monkeys,
My monkey sisters with the monkeys tits!
What am I supposed to be a shepherd in heaven,
Can I be a king on earth!
Once there was a hero in a great war,
Said he would prefer to be a dog on earth,
As to be a lion in the realm of the dead!
I was on earth but a monkey king,
In heaven I 'm just a shepherd.
No, monkey king to be is my profession,
Chimpanzees and gorillas, orang-utans
And apes I want to dominate
And still on earth rule the kingdom
According to the apes rights and freedom,
Where female monkeys are like the male apes,
Where the chimpanzees also have the right,
In free love to do a one-night-stand
As the gorillas in marriage to unite.
Declaration of Human Rights of the monkeys
Will I preach and the United Nations
Of Heaven, Holiest of Holy?
SUN WU KUNG
I say: Give me the book of death!

(He jumps through the southern gate of heaven back to the earthly Monkey Island.)
FOURTH SCENE
(Sun Wu Kung on the island of the monkeys. Two vicious demons put him the imperial mantle around.)
SUN WU KUNG
I am the Emperor of all the monkeys of China,
But I did not become the Son of Heaven
By the Mandate of Heaven, our Father,
I myself have crowned me Emperor.
THE TWO DEMONS
You're not by the grace of God Emperor,
An autonomous ruler of the people you are,
Not even by the mandate of the people Emperor,
Yourself you are glorious, your own emperor-maker.
SUN WU KUNG
I, Emperor of all the great apes and monkeys,
Determine that Homo sapiens,
Man who thinks, is to be executed!
THE TWO DEMONS
Especially all the sons of men, who
Wear a pair of glasses on their nose!
SUN WU KUNG
But the homo faber persists,
The man of the work has to serve in the kingdom.
THE TWO DEMONS
But what with the homo religiosus?
SUN WU KUNG
The mendicants full of superstition?
The big shots of all the temples should die!
The gold of the temple to the people, god
Is the monkey emperor alone now.
THE TWO DEMONS
What should happen to the peopl#se books,
Do you give to the people a book?
SUN WU KUNG
I'll even write a book of wisdom,
I call it the Bible Sun Wu Kung,
They'll be put on the blind eyes
And so they gain the vision again.
THE TWO DEMONS
How should your name be, oh great leader?
SUN WU KUNG
I am the Heaven-like Saint!
THE TWO DEMONS
Now the monkey does not need more people to heaven,
Because on earth is currently
The Heaven-like Saint, their Great Leader.
SUN WU KUNG
Heaven we leave to the gods.
On earth there's plenty of coconuts,
Enough banana 's for all the monkeys!
FIFTH SCENE
(The god of war Notscha comes in full armor, rode from the sky and pursued the fleeing Sun Wu Kung.)
NOTSCHA
The god of war must get bring you to heaven?
Will not come voluntarily you monkey?
Do you have to threaten you until you die?
SUN WU KUNG
Where are you now threaten me with my death,
It would not be noble sentiments to have,
Now, when I knocked on the door of heaven.
NOTSCHA
Yes, if not in the hour of your death,
When are you going to beg for mercy?
SUN WU KUNG
Oh, too beautiful is but Mother Earth,
So green trees can not be true in heaven.
NOTSCHA
If I threaten you with the sword of death,
What do you still need the green trees?
SUN WU KUNG
First I would like to take on earth farewell
Of all my belovee monkey children.
Now I can not go to heaven,
Who should take care of my monkey children?
NOTSCHA
The Lord in Heaven cares for the birds
And should not care about the monkey people?
You shall care yourself just for your soul!
SUN WU KUNG
The flap is closed, so the monkey is dead.
NOTSCHA
This is a terrible awakening yet,
If I kill you with the sword of war
And your soul then passes to the Lord,
You've denied your whole lifetime long!
SUN WU KUNG
Get away from me, o god of war, I hide me
In a temple on a mountain
And live as a hermit alone
In the Chinese mountain heights
And plant rice for the hot rice wine.
NOTSCHA
Now I 've got you! Now you must come with me!
SUN WU KUNG
Ye gods , goddess or god, have mercy!

Because I want to beat you damning, dear.
GOD OF THE SOUTHERN POLAR STAR
But now it is time for supper.
(Sun Wu Kung continues to flow through the paradise and saw the star of the cowboy and the star of the weaver.)

In idleness. The leisure crashed states
And overthrows the kings from their thrones.
Idleness began the worst of wars.
SUN WU KUNG
O goddess of leisure, all hail!
XII WANG MU
Alone, from your idleness you might
Fall and you confuse your heart!
Because of leisure alone you choose a friend,
Who a bad finger looks similar!
SUN WU KUNG
Work but I've never loved.
In the sweat of his brow to work
To me was always a curse of the Lord.
XI WANG MU
But I want you in the heavenly garden
To be a gardener, a ruler in the garden,
The heavenly garden be in subjection to you,
You rule like a little god in the garden!
SUN WU KUNG
And may I nibble of the peaches, could I?
HSI WANG MU
The heavenly peaches of immortality
Are banned for you! Respect the taboo!
(Xi Wang Mu went away.)
SUN WU KUNG
How beautiful on the peach tree the buds are!
I see the flowers of the almond trees,
Cherry blossoms I once saw on Fujiyama,
Saw apple blossoms and saw plum blossoms,
The most beautiful are the peach blossoms yet!
And this peaches! These red balls,
So silky smooth skin like a cheek
Of the great-grandmother of a mendicant,
And when I look at these sweet balls
And have to think of young girls' solid breasts,
Then I 'd lick its nectar, I will suck!
(Sun Wu Kung is picking one of the banned peaches of immortality and eat it with sinful pleasure.)

O dear sisters, sweet heavenly girls,
How beautiful life is in paradise!

O girl, look, in our beauty, girl,
We see as in a mirror the light of beauty.
THIRD FAIRY
Essence of beauty, hail,
Beauty's archetype and idea of beauty,
To the heavenly idea of the beauty I say: Many greetings!
FIRST FAIRY
The essence of beauty is in God,
Primeval beauty is the deity, all beauties
Are like the sun rays of a sun.
SECOND FAIRY
And so, there are in paradise
No old fat women with wrinkles, creases,
No old fat women with warts on the nose.
There is no old man with a big belly,
With a gray beard and a bald head approach.
These are all signs only of death.
THIRD FAIRY
In paradise the essence of beauty
Are heavenly girls only of sixteen.
FIRST FAIRY
And that is why the artists are pleased
And the painters who painted Guan Yin,
The poets who sang of young girls,
When they enter paradise,
They will see that they had paradise
Even sometimes seen on earth,
When they saw a young girl smiling.
SECOND FAIRY
Awake, south wind, blow in the garden!
(Sun Wu Kung awakenes.)
THIRD FAIRY
Xi Wang Mu, the Queen Mother,
She gives in her heavenly palace
A festival, and all gods are loaded.
(The fairies went away. Sun Wu Kung shakes his sleeping drunk away and rubs the sleep from his eyes.)
SUN WU KUNG
Loaded all the gods? And I am not loaded?
FIFTH SCENE
(Sun Wu Kung meets in heaven the discalced god.)
SUN WU KUNG
Whither goest you, discalced god?
DISCALED GOD
I want to the festival of Xi Wang Mu,
She invited the gods to a feast indeed.
SUN WU KUNG
Am I alone, just me not invited?
DISCALED GOD
I will the mother and the queen
Of the Western Mountains ask to invite you.
Yes, I would rather fast, I want to starve rather,
Then that the kingdom would be inharmonious!
We are a divine family here.
SUN WU KUNG
Family? What I saw of families
On earth, it was just disgusting!
I saw female gorillas, old and fat ,
With limp monkey tits under the tree
Of coconuts sit, meaningless chattering,
Gorilla males I saw, their hair gray,
They farted in front of them full of boredom,
Gorilla children cradling in lianas
According screeched full of envy and jealousy.
And I shall find it all here in heaven again?
DISCALED GOD
The kingdom of heaven is different than earth.
We are here only the family of God,
After we went through the house of cleaning
And we bathed in the fire.
SUN WU KUNG
If one now suffered all his life
From his father and his mother,
Should he meet them in paradise?
DISCALED GOD
Who went through the house of cleaning
And drank from the water of forgetfulness,
He will forget the bad and the evil-doers,
He thinks only of the most beautiful love and delight!
SUN WU KUNG
I also want to the feast of the queen.
DISCALED GOD
We old gods in the garden of Eden,
Need once again young gods!
SUN WU KUNG
When I look at you, discalced god
So you seem to me to be the Ancient of Days
And yet as lovely as a young girl.
DISCALED GOD
The heart of the queen be with you, my child!
SIXTH SCENE

XI WANG MU
Yes, all of you have also plenty of nectar?
COWBOY
That had been on earth our desire,
As we hope we will one day become a star image,
Then we will drink with Xi Wang Mu nectar.
On earth we did not get the nectar,
I think of the hot yellow rice wine,
It always hurts our skull
And sometimes we also had to vomit.
How nice that we now have in paradise
As gods dainty allowed to drink nectar.
SUN WU KUNG
The first cup of nectar, I am still
Denying the veiled truth,
However, when I emptied the whole jar,
I recognize the naked truth.
COWBOY
You drink too much! Rather than to get drunk,
Prefer to be enlightend by pure spirit!
SUN WU KUNG
You drink the nectar with the gods brothers
In the heavenly palace of Xi Wang Mu,
But I drink God's drunkenness,
I myself have become nectar already ,
In my veins no monkey blood flows ,
In my veins flows the nectar of God!
COWBOY
The monkey remains a monkey forever.
SUN WU KUNG
In my veins flows the nectar of God
And this nectar me transfigured into God.
There is on the moon but a nectar ocean,
I nectar-drunken, drunken sink
In the nectar ocean of God.

SUN WU KUNG
I drunk of God's drunkenness
And am drowned ecstatic in the intoxication of love
And sleep drunk with Sleep of God!
COWBOY
Oh, what you say is nothing but pure madness!
SEVENTH SCENE
(In heaven. Sun Wu Kung drunken staggers into the hermitage of Lao Tzu, where the absent Lao Tzu has his alchemical laboratory, and provides the pills of eternal life.)
SUN WU KUNG
So this is the home of Lao Tzu,
Here is his alchemical laboratory.
The people and the gods all want
The pills of immortality to eat.
They want to collect themself in large halls
With the Taoist Pope in the Yellow Turban,
And when they murmured their mantras
And have their breathing regulated,
Then they want in an holy assembly
The pills of immortality to eat.
But even remain fools ever fools.
They confuse the pill of immortality
With the elixir of long life!
They want to live hundred years
And yet the old man of seventy years will
Be equal to the sixteen years young girls
In life and freshness of blooming grace.
The fools are not worth the pills of life!
Here, however, in the cell of enlightenment
Prepares Lao Tzu the elixir
Of long life and the pills
Of immortality. And I am here alone.
I take all elongated vials
With the famous elixir of life
And all shells with white pills
And then I get drunk from the elixir
Of long life and I darn me full
With pills of immortality, they all
Fill me with immortality.
(Sun Wu Kung empties the bottles with the elixir and eat all the pills.)
What have I done? If Lao Tzu
Now comes back to his hermitage
And see, the elixirs and pills
Are all been drunk, eaten,
Does he not sue me before the Supreme Lord?
If Xi Wang Mu then, the queen,
To the Lord says that I at the banquet
Too deep have seen in too many cups,
Do I have ruefully to repent!
ACT SEVEN
FIRST SCENE
(In heaven. The Lord of Heaven on a white jade throne. Lao Tzu and Xi Wang Mu stand before the Lord.)
XI WANG MU
Oh Lord, I have to report about Sun Wu Kung,
That he on the love-feast of the queen,
The Lord's Supper in the heavenly palace,
Not just a morsel ate of ambrosia
And only the lips moistened with nectar,
No, he has drunk himself, drunk,
Tumbling and staggering as a drunkard!
LAO TZU
O Lord, in my cell in heaven
He was in the alchemical laboratory
And has drunk the elixir of long life
And eaten all the pills of immortality,
Swallowed greedily, as if it were sugar.
THE LORD
Where now is Sun Wu Kung? He shall come,
Repentant, he should do his penance!
LAO TZU
He knew you are repentance requesting,
But he 's so proud of his sins
And boasts of its cheeky exploits!
XI WANG MU
And therefore he thought it is not nice in heaven
And he want to leave the garden paradise
And want to return to earth, to the monkeys
Back to be a lord of the monkeys there.
LAO TZU
Yes, dear Lord he wanted rather reign on earth
As to be God's servants in the kingdom of heaven.
THE LORD
Call him back, I want him with me!
XI WANG MU
He, who already was in my paradise,
Who costs the peaches of immortality,
From the mug with the gods nectar drank,
He is immortal already and still on earth!
LAO TZU
He who drank the elixir of life
And ate the pills of immortality,
He is immortal already and yet on earth!
THE LORD
Call him back, I want him with me!
I have my joy in the little child!
SECOND SCENE
(The Lord in his white jade throne. Before him stands the goddess Guan Yin, Mother of Mercy.)
THE LORD
O Guan Yin, Mother of Mercy,
Only you can now the monkey Sun Wu Kung
Get through your mercy in heaven!
GUAN YIN
In my tender mercy
Is everything included in the world,
Just as an embryo in the uterus!
THE LORD
So you go to the pearly gates in the south,
From there, Sun Wu Kung get back!
GUAN YIN
I catch him with my diamond ring,
The diamond ring of Tao has the power
To bind the monkey to the kingdom of heaven.
THE LORD
If you applied the diamond ring,
Then pull him up into paradise!
GUAN YIN
I pull him with my string of pearls
Of the mother-mantras into paradise!
THE LORD
When people die, in the hour of death
They babble often only: Mumamy, Mumamy!
GUAN YIN
I am the Mother of all the dying,
I am in the hour of death their loving mummy!
(Guan Yin in the southern gate of heaven, throws the diamond ring of Tao to earth. Thus she catches Sun Wu Kung.)
SUN WU KUNG
(On earth, on the island of the monkeys)
Yes, but are you also once sober, you fool?
SUN WU KUNG
I drunk of God's drunkenness
And am drowned ecstatic in the intoxication of love
And sleep drunk with Sleep of God!
COWBOY
Oh, what you say is nothing but pure madness!
SEVENTH SCENE
(In heaven. Sun Wu Kung drunken staggers into the hermitage of Lao Tzu, where the absent Lao Tzu has his alchemical laboratory, and provides the pills of eternal life.)
SUN WU KUNG
So this is the home of Lao Tzu,
Here is his alchemical laboratory.
The people and the gods all want
The pills of immortality to eat.
They want to collect themself in large halls
With the Taoist Pope in the Yellow Turban,
And when they murmured their mantras
And have their breathing regulated,
Then they want in an holy assembly
The pills of immortality to eat.
But even remain fools ever fools.
They confuse the pill of immortality
With the elixir of long life!
They want to live hundred years
And yet the old man of seventy years will
Be equal to the sixteen years young girls
In life and freshness of blooming grace.
The fools are not worth the pills of life!
Here, however, in the cell of enlightenment
Prepares Lao Tzu the elixir
Of long life and the pills
Of immortality. And I am here alone.
I take all elongated vials
With the famous elixir of life
And all shells with white pills
And then I get drunk from the elixir
Of long life and I darn me full
With pills of immortality, they all
Fill me with immortality.
(Sun Wu Kung empties the bottles with the elixir and eat all the pills.)
What have I done? If Lao Tzu
Now comes back to his hermitage
And see, the elixirs and pills
Are all been drunk, eaten,
Does he not sue me before the Supreme Lord?
If Xi Wang Mu then, the queen,
To the Lord says that I at the banquet
Too deep have seen in too many cups,
Do I have ruefully to repent!
ACT SEVEN
FIRST SCENE
(In heaven. The Lord of Heaven on a white jade throne. Lao Tzu and Xi Wang Mu stand before the Lord.)
XI WANG MU
Oh Lord, I have to report about Sun Wu Kung,
That he on the love-feast of the queen,
The Lord's Supper in the heavenly palace,
Not just a morsel ate of ambrosia
And only the lips moistened with nectar,
No, he has drunk himself, drunk,
Tumbling and staggering as a drunkard!
LAO TZU
O Lord, in my cell in heaven
He was in the alchemical laboratory
And has drunk the elixir of long life
And eaten all the pills of immortality,
Swallowed greedily, as if it were sugar.
THE LORD
Where now is Sun Wu Kung? He shall come,
Repentant, he should do his penance!
LAO TZU
He knew you are repentance requesting,
But he 's so proud of his sins
And boasts of its cheeky exploits!
XI WANG MU
And therefore he thought it is not nice in heaven
And he want to leave the garden paradise
And want to return to earth, to the monkeys
Back to be a lord of the monkeys there.
LAO TZU
Yes, dear Lord he wanted rather reign on earth
As to be God's servants in the kingdom of heaven.
THE LORD
Call him back, I want him with me!
XI WANG MU
He, who already was in my paradise,
Who costs the peaches of immortality,
From the mug with the gods nectar drank,
He is immortal already and still on earth!
LAO TZU
He who drank the elixir of life
And ate the pills of immortality,
He is immortal already and yet on earth!
THE LORD
Call him back, I want him with me!
I have my joy in the little child!
SECOND SCENE
(The Lord in his white jade throne. Before him stands the goddess Guan Yin, Mother of Mercy.)
THE LORD
O Guan Yin, Mother of Mercy,
Only you can now the monkey Sun Wu Kung
Get through your mercy in heaven!
GUAN YIN
In my tender mercy
Is everything included in the world,
Just as an embryo in the uterus!
THE LORD
So you go to the pearly gates in the south,
From there, Sun Wu Kung get back!
GUAN YIN
I catch him with my diamond ring,
The diamond ring of Tao has the power
To bind the monkey to the kingdom of heaven.
THE LORD
If you applied the diamond ring,
Then pull him up into paradise!
GUAN YIN
I pull him with my string of pearls
Of the mother-mantras into paradise!
THE LORD
When people die, in the hour of death
They babble often only: Mumamy, Mumamy!
GUAN YIN
I am the Mother of all the dying,
I am in the hour of death their loving mummy!
(Guan Yin in the southern gate of heaven, throws the diamond ring of Tao to earth. Thus she catches Sun Wu Kung.)
SUN WU KUNG
(On earth, on the island of the monkeys)
O Guan Yin, this
is your diamond ring!
I'm engaged to thee, O Guan Yin!
(Guan Yin lowers her string of pearls from heaven to earth.)
GUAN YIN
Friend, hold you tight in my string of pearls!
(She pulls with the string of pearls Sun Wu Kung into heaven.)
SUN WU KUNG
O Goddess, Goddess, I'm all thine own!
THIRD SCENE
(Sun Wu Kung is again in heaven. He is now added to the refining furnace of Lao Tzu. Flames shoot out of the oven.)
SUN WU KUNG
How long do I have to burn in the oven?
LAO TZU
Until all your sins are expiated!
SUN WU KUNG
Alas, I have sinned all my life!
LAO TZU
But you have been chosen for paradise!
Through the grace of the Goddess Guan Yin
Saved, your soul is destined for paradise!
SUN WU KUNG
O would I already be finally in paradise!
How hot but this fire flames burn!
LAO TZU
Come on out, you're now become gold.
The glow of desire has purged you,
All waste products are melted,
Now you has become a golden monkey.
(Sun Wu Kung getting out of the refining furnace, he has become a golden monkeys of wisdom.)
SUN WU KUNG
Purified I am, O now I am pure,
I am ready to meet the Emperor!
LAO TZU
To the Jade Emperor on the jade throne
You have to pass the great Buddha.
The Eternal Primordial Buddha is in heaven
The Great Buddha of the Pure Land.
SUN WU KUNG
But I would not go out
In mere nothingness of absolute emptiness!
LAO TZU
Your waiting for a job yet, but
First, you will examine the great Buddha.
SUN WU KUNG
How much longer is the test time?
LAO TZU
Even Buddha had myriads of years
Waited for his entrance into Nirvana.
Now go, Siddharta is already waiting for you!
FOURTH SCENE
(The Eternal Primordial Buddha, great, and Sun Wu Kung, who is in the hand of Buddha.)
BUDDHA
You found yourself in my right hand,
I told you that no one could snatch you
Out of my hands and that you
Although you could escape, wherever you want,
You would always still be in my hand.
SUN WU KUNG
I do not believe in you, Gautama Buddha,
I have walked a hundred thousand miles
And came to a mighty mountain,
Five peaks were steeply into the air there.
I did not see you, I had escaped you so.
So I introduced myself to the average peak
And pissed laughing at this summit
And wrote with my urine
On this summit: I was here!
BUDDHA
You did not know you were in my hand.
Five peaks you saw? In truth, it were
The five fingers of my right hand.
The root you looked at my middle finger,
Here are the drops of your urine.
SUN WU KUNG
O Eternal Primordial Buddha, who is
Embodied in the Buddha of the Pure Land,
I could not escape your hands?
BUDDHA
In my right hand is all power,
From my hands flows all mercy.
My Universal Charity everything
Embraces, the universes' universe
Rests safely in the right hand of the Buddha.
SUN WU KUNG
So I give myself beaten and result me
Voluntary to you in your right hand,
Keep me in your right hand
And let me live in the Pure Land!
BUDDHA
Paradise is still not the highest!
The gods look all even for salvation!
The gods and the inhabitants of paradise,
They all want to mingle with
The Ocean of Universal Mercy,
Where they are redeemed from their old ego
And be deified in the Uncreated!
FIFTH SCENE
(The goddess Guan Yin, Mother of Mercy, and Sun Wu Kung, the golden monkey of wisdom, who wears on his right hand the diamond ring of Tao.)
GUAN YIN
My well-beloved monkey Sun Wu Kung,
You are all mine in the paradise of God!
SUN WU KUNG
I love you above all, my goddess,
You, Guan Yin, the mother of my salvation!
GUAN YIN
I have a request.
SUN WU KUNG
Say, my mother and mistress!
In heaven, there it is the joy of all the gods,
To serve you lovingly, holy queen!
GUAN YIN
On earth down there in the Middle Kingdom
A great hunger is for God's Word !
I have one of my most faithful disciples
Chosen to make a pilgrimage to Israel as a monk,
The Gospel of God's Word
To bring in the yellow Middle Kingdom.
My well-beloved monkey Sun Wu Kung,
You have become a saint,
Go now as Boddisattwa of mercy
In my name back to earth
And help my chosen disciple,
To bring the book of the Gospels
In my most beloved Middle Kingdom!
SUN WU KUNG
What is that, a gospel?
GUAN YIN
The good news it's for the Chinese,
That God, the Supreme Lord of the highest Heaven ,
The God of gods, has become man
And migrated as a God-man on earth.
SUN WU KUNG
O beloved goddess Guan Yin,
I will fulfill all your desires!
My greatest joy in paradise it is,
From those your compassionate eyes
To read all your desires!
GUAN YIN
Prepare yourself! The Yellow Middle Kingdom
Almost died of thirst after this good news!
SUN WU KUNG
Did this God-man have a name?
GUAN YIN
His name is Ye-su Ji-du!
I'm engaged to thee, O Guan Yin!
(Guan Yin lowers her string of pearls from heaven to earth.)
GUAN YIN
Friend, hold you tight in my string of pearls!
